HADIMBA DEVI TEMPLE Manali has many attractions but the chief centre of interest, historically and archeologically, is undoubtedly the DHOONGRI TEMPLE dedicated to goddess Hadimba, the Bhim of Mahabharat fame. It has four-tiered Pagoda shaped roof and the doorway is carved with legendary figures and symbols. This temple located amidst wooden forest of deodar is about 2.5 kms. from the tourist office. It is a pleasant experience to stroll in the temple complex which was built in 1533 A.D. A large festival is held here in May.
 
     
 
VASHISHTHA BATHS The hot water spring of Vashishtha is famous for its medicinal effect. A large number of people come here and take dips in to holy water as the water of the spring is believed to cure several diseases. There is also a pyramidal stone temple dedicated to Vashishta Muni.
     
TIBETAN MONASTERY the Tibetan monastery is famous for its carpet-weaving unit where the residents, the immigrants from Tibet, produce handicrafts of various kinds that attract the tourists a lot.  
     
 
MANU TEMPLE 3 kms. from the main bazar in old Manali lies the temple of MANU RISHI. It is believed that this is the only temple of Manu in India, who was the creator of human race on the earth.
     
NEHRU KUND It is located on the Manali-Keylong road at a distance of 6 km from Manali town The Kund is named after the first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. The place is especially famous for the clean water spring, from the Brhigu Lake.
 
     
 
KOTHI is at a distance of 12 km from Manali, on the Lahaul-Spiti-Leh highway.It served as the camping place for tourists when the 3,978-metre-high Rohtang Pass had to be trekked. It also has a comfortable staying option in the beautiful PWD Rest House, which lies in the middle of snow-capped peaks and glaciers.
     
SOLANG VALLEY At a distance of 13 km from Manali town, Solang Valley is known for its beautiful landscape, snow-capped mountain peaks and the view of the glaciers. It also has skiing training facility, Department of Mountaineering and Allied Sports hostel, and ANTREK Campsite Resort.
 
     
 
MANALI SANCTUARY The Manali sanctuary starts from behind the town square and goes up in the mountains behind Manali. There is a biodiversity trail for the visitors, which showcases all the flora and fauna.
     
ARJUN GUFA(CAVE) 4kms. from Manali towards Naggar, the cave is situated near Prini village 1km. above the road where Arjun had meditated. This is good 1/2 a day excursion with charming view of the brilliant mountains.
 
     
 
ROHTANG PASS (3979 m) Rohtang pass is 51kms. from Manali on highway to Keylong/Leh. It offers a panorama and spectacular mountain view. The pass is open from June to October each year although trekkers can cross it earlier. It is a gateway to Lahaul Spiti, Pangi and Leh valley just as Zojila pass is a gatway to Ladakh. There are a beautiful sight of glaciers, peaks and Chandra river flows down in the Lahaul valley. Slightly to the left are the twin peaks of the Geypan. During summer(mid June to October) regular buses ply between Manali-Keylong/Darcha, Udaipur, Spiti and Leh.
     
SOLANG NULLAH 14 km north-west of Manali in the Solang Valley, this place offers Himachal Pradesh's best ski slopes. A 300 m ski lift is operated by the Mountaineering and Allied Sports Institute. February is best month to ski. HPTDC runs seven day package for ski courses with accommodation in the Hotel Rohtang Manaslu in Manali. Courses are also offered by Mountaineering and Allied Sports Institute and the North Face Ski School. For accommodation, hotel and guest houses are available.
 
     
 
BEAS KUND It is the source of river Beas, at the Rohtang pass and is easily accessible. The great sage, Vyas performed `Tapa' here during the Mahabharat times. The place is still hallowed by the celestial light. it was because of this that the river got the present name of Beas.
     
NAGGAR (1760 M) Magnificent trail of 7 km to heritage resort perched in the sloppy hill takes back you to glorious past. It remained the seat of power till 1460 and then sifted to Kullu. Naggar is the seat of assembly of gods where they meat to alleviate the sorrows of humanity. There is a beautiful stone temple a few steps down to the castle where 8 mettle idols stand on the pedestal and a little bit away is beautiful pagoda style Tripura Sundri Temple.
